Homework: none
Today we took the Unit 1 European Geography test. The grades have been entered into the gradebook.
Homework: none Today we went over the second part of the study guide. The answer key file is below. Homework: STUDY- TEST TOMORROW!!!
Today we went over the vocabulary section of the study guide, completed a quizziz (practice for a section of the test- see below for the link), and then worked on a word search about the language groups (don't forget to match the terms with the clues!).
CLICK HERE FOR THE QUIZZIZ Homework: study for the test on Thursday and work on your study guide; also, the 9/11 interview for extra credit is due on Thursday as well Today we got a new set of warm ups (test review edition!), and then completed a reading with comprehension questions about Chernobyl using a NewsELA article on students' Lexile levels. Upon completing the questions, students had time to work on the study guide for the upcoming test.
Homework: 9/11 interviews due Thursday for extra credit on the test, and study for the test that is this Thursday! Today we watched our CNN10 video for the warm up, finished the environmental issue project, and gave out a study guide for the test that will be on Thursday.
Homework: study for the test on Thursday (9/19) and complete the 9/11 interview for extra credit due the day of the test Today we completed our warm up and then began working on a project about one of the environmental issues of Europe we've been discussing. First, students were to write a paragraph explaining the causes, effects, and solutions of their selected issue. Then, they created either a bumper sticker, motivational poster, or t-shirt design to bring awareness to their cause. We'll continue working on it tomorrow.
Homework: 9/11 interview due by 9/19 for extra credit and STUDY FOR A TEST ON 9/19!! We'll get a study guide tomorrow, but you can study your teacher notes for tonight. Today we continued discussing the last of our environmental issues in Europe from the standards (the Chernobyl, Ukraine nuclear disaster), and then we watched a couple videos (Brain Pop and CNN10) about 9/11. I'm so sorry about the sad topics today! Go find a puppy to snuggle?
Homework: interview an adult (preferably family member) using the provided questions about 9/11. Be sure to use pen as pencil will fade over time. This can be turned in any time between tomorrow and 9/19 for 5 points added on our next test. Today we worked on our warm ups, and then watched a couple video clips to further understand acid rain (in Germany), air pollution (in the UK), and radioactivity and nuclear energy (related to the Chernobyl disaster in Ukraine). We also worked on our notes graphic organizer about the causes, effects, and solutions for each of these environmental issues.
Homework: none Today we got a new set of warm ups, watched a song from Moana in 24 different languages (see below for the video to watch it again), and began taking notes on some current environmental issues happening in Europe today. Homework: none I was out today, but students completed the rest of the "Language Notes" page using a provided reading passage about Europe's main language groups and religions. If that was finished with extra time, then students worked on a Europe Language Map that they'll continue working on tomorrow.
