Homework: finish Government Comic Strip assginment Today we worked on our warm ups and then started a comic strip creation assignment. Students should have completed at least the front page (both autocratic and democratic comic strips). Tomorrow we will watch our CNN10 video and finish the back of the page (parliamentary and presidential democracies).
Homework: finish at least the front of the comic strip page (2/4 comic strips) and study for the government test that will be on Wednesday 1/22 Today we went over the answers to the comparing government charts. Students then got to use their charts in order to complete a Venn diagram comparing/contrasting the governments of the United Kingdom, Russia, and Germany. If time allowed, some blocks got to watch the CNN10 video from January 8th.

Today students took the online Reading Inventory mid-year assessment. If they finished early, they could either review the government vocabulary terms via quizlet or work on their Vocabulary Options activity (make either flashcards, word search, Frayer model, or crossword puzzle using each of the 13 required words once). Homework: finish the Vocabulary Options activity (blocks 3rd and 4th only) Today students received a NewsELA article about democracy versus authoritarianism. If students finished answering the questions early, they began working on a vocabulary options activity using the vocabulary terms received yesterday.
