The countries of focus for today's exploration of holidays around the world were Brazil and Mexico.
Homework: none Today we continued looking at how holidays are celebrated around the world, focusing on our case study countries (Germany, England, Australia, and Canada). We will look at Brazil and Mexico tomorrow.
Homework: none Today students who needed to finish their timeline project did that first. They then got a packet about Germany's holiday traditions to work on.
Homework: none Today students finished their European History Timeline projects. If it wasn't finished in class, then some time can be given on Monday to work on it.
Homework: none ***MY 5TH BLOCK: if you would like to bring in cupcakes, candy canes and/or paper towels for our holiday celebration, please send me an email: [email protected] Today students started working on a timeline project that will be done by the end of class tomorrow. I took data from their test yesterday, analyzed which questions were missed by topic, and assigned students to their greatest area of need. They will complete a timeline event page using the provided template to summarize their event including all of the ideas listed on their instruction page. I have copies of resources for student use in the classroom, but they should also have it in their notebook. The instruction sheet also includes a rubric that students should use as a reference when completing their projects. This is to be done in class, but may need to be worked on at home if they get behind.
Homework: finish paragraph for timeline project and put it on the template page Today students took the European History Unit test; grades will be entered this afternoon.

Homework: study for the test that is TOMORROW!!! Today students received their assessment papers from last week; I used their responses and questions missed by topic to identify which areas each individual needed to review. Students completed the two topic Ducksters.com reviews that I highlighted on their papers from last week. If additional time remained, students could study additional Ducksters, complete extension Ducksters, or study their study guide.
